 Amanda Curtis is a rising senior, double-majoring in Development Sociology and Environmental and Sustainability Sciences. Amanda is focusing her studies on understanding the roles of policy and community engagement in managing environmental issues. She has worked as an assistant in Hairston's Lab through the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology and with the campaign efforts of the nonprofit organization, Environment New York. Most recently, she studied the pollution crisis in Sambava, Madagascar, analyzing local waste management practices and policies and organizing an educational outreach event for the community. At Cornell, Amanda works as an Events Coordinator Assistant at Rev Ithaca Startup Works, is a tutor with 21st Century at Newfield Middle School and is a co-leader of the Communications team for her fellowship, Christian Union. Having grown up in the Southern Tier, Amanda looks forward to working with R2G and continuing to grow alongside her community.  Kevin Reigner is a rising junior studying Environmental and Sustainability Sciences with a concentration in Sustainable Systems. Kevin is most interested in taking a systemsthinking approach to sustainability issues to find a solution that is economically viable, environmentally friendly, and socially responsible.Kevin is from Boyertown, Pennsylvania, and his experiences growing up in a rural area instilled a love for the environment at a young age. As a member of the Comanche Nation Tribe, Kevin prides himself in his Native American heritage and is proud to carry on the legacy of sustainability from the original environmental stewards. During the school year Kevin is a partof the Biology Scholars Program and has served as the Director of Diversity and Inclusion and now co-runs the operations aspect of Cornell University Sustainable Design, a systems engineering-based project team. Kevin is excited to be working with the R2Gprogram and is ready to look at the sustainability of urban planning through the program.  Nadine Fuller is a rising senior studying earth and atmospheric sciences in the college of arts and sciences. She is interested in environmental activism at the local, regional and international level. She was intrigued by Rust 2 Green’s inclination towards community based solutions and is curious to see the ways R2G’s perspective and Binghamton residents’ perspectives on their city and its revitalization align, or don’t. She looks forward to merging her knowledge of earth systems and climate change with human specific elements to both inform and learn in a reciprocal relationship with this new environment.  Yuncheng Wang is a rising senior studying city and regional planning. He is interested in urban planning, sustainable design, and community development. Yuncheng is from Shanghai, China, and he believes that sustainable urban development is crucial to the revitalization of former industrial cities. Yuncheng considers this R2G fellowship a valuable opportunity to get hands-on experience in sustainable planning and community engagement.
